a color story: purple roads?

driving back home on the purple roads

Eyes on the road. Eyes on the road.

Between 8:40pm  and 8:50pm, the grey pavement roads shined a purple hue. The first time I noticed this, I felt like it was the caffeine talking. Right before the interesting drive, I drank a cup of decaf coffee. Little did I know, I didn't sleep well that night - decaf still has caffeine. I didn't have caffeine in months.

Now, I was back on the caffeine train.

Repeat. Celebrated an event at my sister's place. The generous hosts brewed a great cup of decaf coffee. On the drive back, I noticed a nice purple hue on the roads between 8:40 pm and 8:50 pm again. Was I dreaming?

The sunset receded. I waited for the sky's color to match the roads. It never did.  The sky had its own journey. The roads had its own. And I had to go home.

Eyes on the road. Eyes on the road. Eyes on the road.

Car headlight's illuminated the roads. I turned mine. For a split second, I was in a vintage batman movie. Impressions of grey, yellow and the purple accents. The Hyundai transformed into a Batmobile.

Vroom. Vroom. Vroom. Within the speed limits of course.

I had passengers. I had a responsibility to get from point A to point B in a safe matter.

I felt the roads changing again. The night turned pitch black. My eyes sored from opposing headlights. I saw the town name on the bill board. Then, the neighborhood. Then, the final destination.

Eyes on the road. Eyes on the road.
