a color story: tulip tulip

blush red tulip red impressions

Anticipating, anticipating, anticipating. When will the tulips bloom? The early bunch of daffodils started to lose its colors. The tulips only had its green foliage to prove itself at the moment.  I slowly saw the tulip's transformation from the stem to the outer green pedals. I doubted that the red flower was worth the slow buildup. How was the tulip fever ever a thing?

Then, the tulips bloomed. The red flower drew me in - shaped like fancy tea cups in the sunlight. But, the tulip closed like an dry pink umbrella in the corner of a Monet painting. I forgave its long due date. I forgave its unnecessary amount of green foliage. I forgave it all. The tulip was in a lane of its own.

Green. Green/pink. Pink blush. Red. Pink Blush. Red.

There was so much life and action in the tulips. Once the night hit, the pedals would go back to a sleeping state which showed its pink blush exterior. When the sun came out, the flower petals opened and revealed a bright warmer red. The flower's animated impressions reminded me of Alice In Wonderland original 1951 cartoon (lively flowers waking up).

Did the tulip blush became it arrived late to the spring party? Because I forgave the flower's late arrival.

I, too, blushed to doubt the flower's aesthetic prowess. I felt like a sport's bandwagon fan but with flowers. I was "Team Daffodil" but now that the "super team" arrived, I quickly change my allegiance with "Team Tulip". What color's were daffodils? Was it the same color as dandelion flowers?

Red to Blush. Blush to Red.

I went on a walk to pick up the mail. I returned to see that the tulips closed and show its blush pink hues... I went inside then opened the fridge. The strawberry-flavored bubbly seemed to be the right choice.
